My wife likes CHOCOLATE. She had been wanting us to make a CHOCOLATE sourdough bread for quite some time. And we did! Introducing our Organic Chocolate Artisan Sourdough Loaf!

But this is no ordinary chocolate sourdough. We start with our Organic Artisan Traditional Sourdough Country Loaf and at the right time in the process, add organic Dark Cacao Powder, organic non-alcohol Vanilla Extract, Redmond Real Salt and non-GMO Monk Fruit/Allulose sugar replacement. And after that gets incorporated into the dough we add a generous helping of Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips (also sweetened with non-GMO Allulose).

The result is a chocolate bread that’s not overpowering but can stand on its own, fresh or toasted; can be buttered (tastes like milk chocolate!), can be sliced thin and baked to make a chocolate flatbread, or can be topped with cream cheese and/or jam. This also makes a delicious French Toast (with Raw Farm melted butter on top, or Nutiva vegan butter if you prefer).

And if you’re adventurous, try this as an open-face cheese melt with fresh Asiago or Truffle Cheese from Italy!

Note: Our Chocolate Artisan Sourdough is baked as needed so it is usually available fresh on Thursday to Saturday. We try to keep a few frozen loaves on hand in the event we run out of the fresh ones or for those who visit us on Sunday. Those loaves are baked, cured to perfection, sliced (or not) then frozen. A loaf restores to room temperature very well and we include an instruction card that explains how to do this for best results.
