Breadness Blog, episode 8 ~ Grand Opening Weekend Is Set…
If you’ve been following us on this journey so far, you know that our beloved brand new refrigerator went south (which means the temperature went way north!) and we were at a standstill until it could be repaired (which required the replacement of the compressor, the “engine” of the cooling system). By the time the on-site diagnosis was done, the warranty report filed, repair order approved by the factory, the part shipped from New Jersey to Los Angeles (ground service) and the replacement installation scheduled, the bakery had been unable to make bread for two weeks! Had we been open and customers depending on us, we would have been (pardon the pun…) TOAST!
But I am happy to report that the new compressor is working! Manny, the serviceman from KC Refrigeration in Hawthorne, did an excellent job of diagnosis and also came back to do the replacement. I was told by an executive at the factory that the failure rate on these compressors is 1 in 10,000. I should have bought a Lottery ticket!
Moving forward, we now have a clear path to our Grand Opening Weekend and it will be…
(drum roll, please…)
Friday & Saturday, August 6th & 7th, 2 to 8 p.m.
Of course I would LOVE to see you at some point during these two special days. But I also understand if you happen to be in Paris at that time, it’s not likely you’ll be able to make it. However, if you are in So Cal on August 6th/7th and you want to be part of Breadness lore for years to come, here’s your big chance!
If the idea of fresh-baked organic artisan sourdough bread sounds tempting, I invite you to visit our new micro-bakery, Random Acts of Breadness, at 2214 W. Magnolia Blvd., August 6th and 7th from 2 to 8 p.m.
Breadness is unique for a number of reasons including:
- It’s made-from-scratch organic Artisan Sourdough using a time-honored 3-day process that breaks down the gluten, producing a natural sweetness
- It’s a uniquely healthy bread that is both gluten-neutral and lectin-light* (perfect for those who are gluten sensitive or follow The Plant Paradox program)
- Breadness stays fresh for several days at room temperature, and the flavor/texture profile changes character with each passing day
*Plant proteins that protect plants but are cumulatively toxic to humans. See a short video here: http://tiny.cc/lectin
Visit Breadness.com to see and hear “tastimonials” from those who have experienced one or more “random acts of breadness” since we started gifting this bread to friends and family back in December 2016 — over 800 loaves!
Then come on over to our brand-new bakery on Friday and/or Saturday from 2 to 8 p.m. for a free slice of Breadness! You’ll probably want to take a loaf home with you (if there are any left…)
I’ll be sending out some fun and interesting items in the days leading up to our Grand Opening so do keep an eye out for them.
Until next time…
Randall Michael Tobin
