Tapenades from Lisa Grabow at Beyond the Olive are quite popular here at Random Acts of Breadness. When I found her company also carries a few jams, I just had to try them. Introducing Fig Jam from Arroyo Seco Orchards, part of the Beyond The Olive Family.

Figs and Valencia Oranges grow side-by-side in their garden. What began as a plate of complimentary fruit, is now this uber thick condiment.

These jams use 1/2 the sugar of regular jam recipes and they use no pectin so are truly concentrating the flavors into a jar. The Brits would call this a “conserve,” similar to what we call “preserves.”

However you call it – a flavor jam or a melody of flavor – it’s delicious!
